Cross Country Fun

What an amazing afternoon we had on Friday!

After a week of rain, the sun shone as the children competed to be at the Zones next term in the Championship races. After this we had Year 4, 5 and 6 children running and then the ever popular house colour races.

The House Chant off was fiercely contested with Mr Barrow judging the Blue House chant the best...

 The Parents got to join in the fun too - well done to Samantha's Dad, Greg for winning the race!!

Counting Back on a number line

This week we have been learning to use a number line to help us count back from the biggest number.

We have been using the Explain Everything App on the iPads to show our learning.

We found it useful to jump back on the number line and circle the number we landed on.

We are very lucky to have the Life Education Bus visiting Sockburn School next week.

The focus for the children will be on friendship, being unique and our feelings. 

The children will have follow up activities to do in class after their sessions and we are sure they will want to share their learning with you at home too!

Cross Country & Celebration Afternoon!

Yesterday a note went home about Cross Country. If you haven't seen it here it is.

This year we are combing our Cross Country with our Celebration of Learning for the end of term!

Date: Friday 7th April
Time: 12:00 pm

• Bring your lunch and have a picnic with your child between 12:00pm - 1:00pm
• The PTA will be running a sausage sizzle on the day!

Students can dress to support their house! (Just ask a teacher if they don't know their house)

Come and support your child/children to compete in the Cross Country Championship Race (Year 4 up) or Fun Run, have some lunch, all while celebrating with them their successes for the end of the term!

There will be an opportunity for your child/children to take them through their Learning Space and share with you their work and creations after eating lunch.

Please Note: There is no postponement date, we will work around the weather as it comes to hand, no matter what the weather, kick off time is 12:00pm for lunch!
