Reading: Jets

During this week the Jets and I were talking about things that we would like to dress up as.
Check out our pictures!

Codi-Jae would like to be a pirate

Ofa would like to be a mouse

Loki would like to be a cat

Reading: Satellites

This week the Satellites have been looking at writing Character Descriptions.

We read the story 'Going to the Doctor' and discussed the importance of describing characters in our writing so the audience has a clear picture of who they are.

Week 2 Action Stations

Students in Matai have had lots of fun getting to know each other and trying out our Action Stations. Through these, children learn to use important life skills such as co-operation,
communication, turn-taking, self-managing and persevering.

                                         Can you match rhyming words?

What can you build with the Duplo?

How high can you stack the chairs?
Can you finish the jigsaw puzzle?

Can you make a ladybug or design a pattern on a hand ?

Can you read a book in the Library corner?

       What can you make?

Welcome to 2017

Kia Ora!

Welcome back for 2017. We are so excited to be working with the Matai Learners this year.

This year we have Mrs Hefferman, Mrs Redden and myself Mr Gibson in the space.

On this blog you will get to see our learning, different things that are coming up and just some really cool things we have done at school.

Remember to bring your togs each day!
Also don't forget to bring your Reading folder along daily.
